In the beginning, God took a rose, a lily, a dove, a serpent, a little honey, a Dead Sea apple, and a handful of clay. When he looked at the amalgam, it was a woman. ( A Persian Saying )

Not just Sun, but Moon too, rises in the East
Man is superior to Woman with
respect to physical power, but......
Woman is superior to Man when it comes to creativity, sensitivity, modesty,
respect and ..... love !
Man can't degrade
woman without himself falling into degradation;
he can't deviate her without at the same time elevating himself.
A nice, strong-charectered, respectful and modest woman is the perfect workmanship of God, the true glory of angels, the rare of miracle of earth, and the sole wonder of the world.
A MAN TALKS TO
WOMAN
How weak she is, who gets
stares by her "revealed" body
How strong she is, who bends eyes by her "covered" body
Like a " puppet " or a toy. Yes, these days many men are using women like that. Isn't a tragedy that today, men are more covered than women in many ' developed ' parts of the world ? Doesn't she have any respect or value? why is she so cheap that whenever a ' Man' wants , he uses her body to sell a a one-dollar soap and a five-dollar magazine? why movie makers want to get rich by climbing though the hills and ups and downs of woman's body? Founders of many news papers and magazines became billionaires just because they showed naked / semi-naked daughters of Eve in their few-buck stuff. Are they doing justice with the nature.
Hmm, let's discuss it further with an example. Suppose someone gives me a precious gift of a beautiful book for my very " personal " use and instructs me to have all the precautions to protect the gift from the reach of others so that its charm and value shall not be destroyed and so that no one could steal / destroy it . But once I get the book, I remove its ' cover ', place title of my own choice to advertise some cheap stuff and then put it in front of everyone for my own profit. Would it be right thing to do with the creator and author of the book and with the book itself ? It's not very surprising that today, it's been hard to find a modest feminine and shy woman specially in the West. Ofcourse all fingers are not alike, but the tragedy is that most women who have eastern ancestory are adopting western influence day by day, in their dress , acts and nature.
I think western media
contributes a big share in creation of such problem. Western media always presented '
Woman ' as an object of lust and ' Sex Symbol '. Western culture, environment, values have
adversely affected the psychology, genotype and phenotype of Women living there. That's
why, there are wide differences between the thinkings of western women and an Eastern
Women, ranging from career approaches, family behaviour and marital affairs too. A typical
western woman shouldn't take gazes of man on her body as compliments when he stares on her
body interestingly and makes her naked practically by his eyes while staring at her
uncovered body.
Women are like a precious jewels, invaluable ornaments. Expensive and real Jewels are
always displayed in beautiful cases and with enough protection and cover. The more
valuable is a thing, more secured we keep it and it is not displayed to one and all or to
the people who visit us.
I totally disgree with those persons who say that western women have all the rights in the West. No, infact its a mirage, a false virtuality ! Did you ever realize that the country which is supposed to be the biggest leader of Women rights, never had any ' Woman' as a President ??? even Presidents, Kings of many counteries have used Woman to fulfil their extra marital desires. Man, there has very cleverly trapped the woman within a fantasy wonderland of " Rights ".
Perhaps western woman
doesn't know that every dirty gaze which is focused on her exposed thighs and legs
emerging from her skirts is just like a sharp pointed arrow , which makes her disabled
every time. Every bad eye which stares at her thrusting bosom is like a virtual rape to
her body. Every look at her jeans / trouser-clad bottom is just like a hammer which tries
to knock her conscience which, ofcourse, is found at the same place in such women. In
her hiding herself, lies her own safety and value. Though she might remain pure but with
men as well as women, there is always the devil to inspire evil intention and stimulates
the rebellious carnal desires. No real ' woman ' would like her beauty to be polluted by
the lusty glances of the devilish passion to pollute her pure and chaste fairness.
Time has come when such woman should realize that she is not a sex symbol. She is Woman,
who is more creative than man, more valuable than man.

Culture and Islam
Some people say culture and Islam are two separate things. They think that religion prohibits different traditions and heritage and cultures (e.g. Indian / Pakistani culture) has nothing to do with Islam. Well such people are wrong in the eyes of Islam. How? Let's take help from Holy Quran, where in Soorah-e-Rom, verse 22, Allah is clearly saying..." And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colors. "
All socialists accept that language is one of the strongest factors, which construct a particular culture. See Islam actually promotes different healthy and positive cultures, instead of prohibiting them.
This difference of culture even among Muslims is something positive and normal and should be appreciated."O mankind! We created you from male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other;"
(Soorah-e-Hujraat, verse 13)
A SYEDANI, WHO IS PAKISTANI

I am a proud muslim,
pure Pakistani woman
So, I enjoy the pleasure of being a true woman
I love my rich
civilisation, heritage and culture
culture, which my religion gives me as my nature
So are my acts,
modesty, behaviour and looks
my language and outfits keep me in good books
Yes, I don't wear
those cheap, immodest cloths
weird outfits which make, many women, sloths
Cheap, masculine
trousers, jeans and skirts
and those cloths which attract lusty spurts
Outfits , without a " Veil " to cover the " Bosom"
and have no outer cloth to hide the " Bottom"
Same cloths which reveal your buttock and thigh
well, trust me, such things don't raise you high
And yet, interior is first and then is exterior
accordingly, I prefer my family on my career
Thanks, I don't adopt cheap methods for fame
That's why, house work gives me no shame
Yeah, trust me I feel proud to be a house wife
Then, wow, what a satisfaction I gain in life
When needed, I don't limit myself to house
but only with the permission of my spouse
I don't have any
time for cinema and theatre
because I've got to do something really better
Oh yes, I know the secret of being beautiful
For it stands in being purely and truly dutiful
Dutiful to Allah,
Prophet (pbuh) and islam
because only this keeps me satisfied and calm
Unique modesty and
shyness are my armours
knowledge and confidence are my powers
Covered with respect
and yet so liberated
My religion keeps me from being violated
I have the strength
to do what I think is right
Even if it means putting up a life long fight
So, Western women, you feel bad for me? Do You?
But let me tell you, exactly the opposite is true
A Syedani who is
Pakistani.... The Poem
A Poem by Madam, Syeda Kisa Zehra , President , Anjuman-e-Dukhtaraan-e-Zainab, Lahore, Friday, 26th May, 2000 )
A Dream about WOMAN
In 16th century, Mughal era gave a new dimension and unique aspect to woman in the East. A new cultural revolution took the Indian sub-continent by storm. Woman emerged as Queen "Mumtaaz Mehal, Anaar Kali, Chaand bibi, and Noor Jahaan". Woman became a centre of traditions, nucleus of the poetry, a salient feature of the culture. Poets used examples of beautiful things like Moon, flowers, roses and stars, just to describe her beauty.
Father of
Urdu,Ameer Khusro, for the first time, introduced feminine aspects in poetry with symbolic
representation of natural beauty like rain, colours and flowers. At the same time, he used
great terms related with cultural, traditional and familial aspects of woman, while keeping
in mind, religious limits too. She was so vulnerable and yet so protected with her typical
armour of shyness. In 16th and 17th Centuries, when women in Europe had no identity, no
prominent existence. Eastern Women were exploring themselves in a particular part, which
is known as, INDIA !
India, from where dreams take origin, a region where nights are echoed with the sounds of
wedding bells, and days play Taan- sain instrumentals. Where melody
dances with the air motion and where love boats ride in the sweet waters of Ganga and
Jamna. Where even fishermen, understand poetrys importance.
Where rain has those pure fragrance of trees and soil. Yes, I'm talking about the same
India, which gave a separate, true identity to woman, differentiating between woMAN, and a true WOman .
So one day I was asking to Allah.....that ... " Oh Allah !!!.....Where that Typical,Traditional, Eastern Woman has gone ? Woman, who was a symbol of shyness. Whose way to dress was religiously Eastern, who used to decorate her hands with Mehndi and Bangles. Her Eye lashes encasing her Kajal studded eyes were made only to bend down due to the weight of her shyness. Her trembling Lips were a source of many unspoken love words and expressions. Her long hair used to make her ultra-feminine. Her blush was the colour of her virtue. Who used to play with her female friends on cradles whenever rain came. Her every thing was reserved for only one Man, prince of her dreams, her husband. Her Make-up and all of beauty was only for her life partner. And yes a woman who was a hall mark of Love , affection, sincerity, obedience and trust. I asked again.... " Oh Lord.. does such woman really exist even these days too" ?
" Yes " A sound came from the heart !
" Hmmm...? But where?? " I was dead curious.
" THERE............."
EXPLORE PAKISTANI WOMAN

An Ideal Pakistani
woman represents a true, Islamic and feminine aspect of Woman.
Apart from the propagenda of Western media, she does have rights here according to Islam
and Eastern traditions. Every aspect of Pakistani woman, specificially as a Mother,
Daughter, Sister and Wife is unique and
significant in its own place.
As a " Mother "

A woman becomes complete when she becomes a mother. Enjoying her power of creativity and grade of superiority over " man " and even heavens she experiences those precious feelings and senses, which nature gives only to woman. There is no doubt that as a mother, she is superior to Man and is the nucleus of her family !
Nature has kept a specific feeling
of comfort, protection and affection between a mother and a child. This bond between her
and her children prevents her offsprings from many social , medical, and psychological
drawbacks. According to the latest report of WHO , those children who pass their childhood
while their mothers are with them at home , are more self confident and relatively have
less risk of scaring of nightmares during sleep. Also according to confirmed Paediatric
studies , "working mother" or a "Job-less father" are a definite risk
factors for child malnutrition and emotional instability. It's truly said that the Future
destiny of the child is always the work of the mother.
As a " Daughter "

She is the symbol of respect for the whole family. A precious gift of Allah to the whole household. To a father waxing old nothing is dearer than a daughter. Sons have spirits of higher pitch but less inclined to sweet, endaring fondness.
What are little girls made of.... ?
Sugar and spice and all things nice.
And such are little girls made of.
" Do you want a
boy ? " Suddenly, she
asked in a low voice, her face showing concern.
" Hmm I want a
girl....and you? " He
asked back.
" A boy, ofcourse, but
why do you want a girl ? " She was very astonished.
"
Daughters are the blessings of God. Sweet, cute angels. Daughter is some one so precious
that our dear holy Prophet ( peace be upon him ) had his first offspring as a
holy daughter. " He
smoothed her hair back.
" So it's actually an honour to be blessed with a daughter. " He told her gently.
His sentence brought tears in her eyes.
( An excerpt from the novel
" Bus....Tum Ko Paana Hai " by IKRAM ABIDI )
As a " Sister "

She is a cause of affection and sacrifice. As a sister, she creates the feelings of holy, respectful and modest emotions for family, collectively known as ' Ghairat ' in Pakistan.
As a " Wife "
A good wife is heaven's best gift to man, his gem of many virtues, his casket of jewels; her voice is sweet music, her smiles his brightest day, her kiss the guardian of his innocence, her industry his surest wealth, her respect his cause of grace, her lips his faithful counsellors, her bosom the soft pillow of the cares. She is the good man's paradise, and the bad's first step to heaven, a treasure which, who wants, cannot be trusted to posterity, nor pay his own debts ; she's a golden sentence written by our Maker, which the angels may discourse of, only men know how to use, and none but devils violate. No doubt, a good wife binds earth to heaven.
When She becomes a " House Wife "

As a wife, she is a hall mark of
honesty, Islamic obedience, sincerity and love. Yes, for a real Pakistani wife , her
husband, children and family are more important than her career. Being a true muslim
woman, she doesn't feel any shame or insult in doing housework or family work. And when it
comes to cooking, ofcourse she does know that her way to her husband's " heart "
goes through his " stomach " .
" Dear wife, what's going on in here ? " She smiled to herself as her husband's voice came to her from
behind.
" Nothing much. Fixing
dinner. " She shook the spoon in the fry pan, looking for the
jar of red spice.
He slowly came up
behind her. Inside the kitchen, working so carelessly , she looked so " wife "
to him that he was unable to stop himself. He buried his face in her soft fragrant
tresses, inhaling deeply. He was breathing in life, not the fear of death, breathing in
her special womanly scent combined with the fragrance of the fresh air.
He could feel all of his day-long tiredness washing off as soon as he put his face in her dark, frangrant hair.
" Ummmm. You know what, I want to marry you again. " He breathed in her ear. The sight of her in the kitchen at the end of a long day, had knocked everything else from his mind.
( An excerpt from the novel " Bus....Tum Ko Paana Hai " by IKRAM ABIDI )
When She becomes a " Career Woman "
She is judge, she is in police, she is an advocate, she is soldier, she is doctor. Majority of medical students of Pakistan comprises of females. She is journalist, pilot, business woman, she has even become Prime Minister here.
PAKISTANI WOMAN AS A SOLDIER

Some people say, " Oh it's so hard to wear Hijaab while working. " Some say, " It's too tough to wear hijaab in our Job field. " I don't know about them but I just know one thing, that, " A Pakistani woman can wear hijaab while launching an " Infra Red laser guided M-K2 Messile. " :) Like other fields, Pakistani women are working at different posts of Pakistan Armed Forces too.

Fascinating in her own right, her
traditional and eastern daily wear gives her a pride of being modest, purely feminine,
unique and ' Original ' . Whether she is student or a professional woman or belong to any
other field, Kurta shilwar suits her every where. This outfit shows her modesty and is very
comfortable to her.

Mehndi ( Hina ) is an identity of south-Asian bride's hands and feet. Mehndi in it
present form was actually derived from the indian culture, but is perfectly allowed in
every sect of Islam and not just for hands but for hair too.
Dedication
To Fatemah, seven year old daughter of my Irish American friend, born and raised in
U.S, who decided on her own to wear ' Hijaab' even at such a little age, and who's adopted
eastern culture so courageously, while living in the west.
